Humans have muscular, chambered heart and it is mesodermally derived Organ.

\bigstar Heart is protected by double walled membrane called pericardium.

  1. Outer wall : Parietal pericardium they have to sub layers. Outer layer is made up of fibrous connective tissue and Inner layer is made of simple squamous epithelium.
  2. Inner wall : Visceral Pericardium they are also known as Epicardium made up of simple squamous epithelium.

\bigstar Externally, the atrium and the ventricles are separated by the Coronary sulcus.

\bigstar The superior vena cava, inferior vena cava and coronary sinus brings deoxygenated blood from all body parts expect lungs and supply it to right atrium.

  • Superior vena cava brings the blood from upper portion of the body.
  • Inferior vena cava brings the blood from lower portion.
  • Coronary sinus bring the blood from walls of the heart.

\bigstar Pulmonary artery sends deoxygenated blood from right ventricle to lungs.

\bigstar There are 2 pairs of Pulmonary veins which brings oxygenated blood from lungs and supply it to left atrium.

\bigstar Aorta supply oxygenated blood from left ventricle to all parts of the body.
