Answer:

There are 3 types of matter

  1. solid
  2. liquid
  3. gas

which are also called

  1. solid state
  2. liquid state

gaseous state

other than this there are also types of matter but it's not clearly defined example. plasma or plasmic state

Explanation:

  1. solid state:In this state molecules are very tightly packed and no gaps and they have definite shape and size ex: wood, iron etc

2. liquid state: in this state the molecules are loosely packed hence have some gaps and donot have definite shape it takes shape of medium which contains it ex: water , milk etc

gaseous state: in this state molecules are very loosely packed they are so loose that they do not have define shape example: oxygen nitrogen helium etc

Solid is one of the four fundamental states of matter. The atoms in a solid are closely packed together and contain the least amount of kinetic energy. A solid is characterized by structural rigidity and resistance to a force applied to the surface.

 \huge{\underline{\mathfrak {\purple{2) Liquid }}}}

A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that conforms to the shape of its container but retains a (nearly) constant volume independent of pressure. As such, it is one of the four fundamental states of matter (the others being solid, gas, and plasma), and is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed shape.

 \huge{\underline{\mathfrak {\purple{3) Gas }}}}

Gas is one of the four fundamental states of matter (the others being solid, liquid, and plasma). A pure gas may be made up of individual atoms (e.g. a noble gas like neon), elemental molecules made from one type of atom (e.g. oxygen), or compound molecules made from a variety of atoms (e.g. carbon dioxide).
