Hello!

______________________________

If (x - 2) is the factor of x^5 - 3x^4 - ax² + ax + 4,

Then x = 2.

We will put the value of x in the given equation and equate it to zero.

=> (2)^5 - 3(2)^4 - a(2)² + a(2) + 4 = 0

= 32 - 3(16) - 4a + 2a + 4 = 0

= 32 - 48 + 4 - 2a = 0

= - 12 = 2a

= a = -12/ 2

= a = -6

I hope it helped.
