P(x) = x^2 -3x +2

0= x^2 -(2+1)x +2

0=x^2 -2x -x +2

0=x(x-2) -1 ( x+2)

0=( x-1)(x-2)

So, x-1 =0

x=1

x-2 =0

x=2

✔Always look at the sign of constant ie last term, of it is positive, then you need terms such that there addition gives the middle term.

✔If it is negative, there subtraction will give middle term.

✔For convenience, always factorise the constant, then calculate in your mind.
