EXPLANATION.

Height of an equilateral triangle having side = 2a.

As we know that,

Formula of :

Pythagoras theorem.

⇒ H² = P² + B².

⇒ Hypotenuse > Perpendicular > Base.

In ΔABD.

⇒ AB = 2a

⇒ BD = a.

Using Pythagoras Theorem, we get.

⇒ (AB)² = (AD)² + (BD)².

⇒ (2a)² = (AD)² + (a)².

⇒ 4a² = (AD)² + a².

⇒ 4a² - a² = (AD)².

⇒ 3a² = (AD)².

⇒ (AD) = √3a².

⇒ (AD) = √3a.

Height of an equilateral triangle = √3a.
