2x {}^{2}  - 3x + p = 3 \\ if \: root \: is \: 3 \: so \: put \: x = 3 \\ 2(3) {}^{2}  - 3 \times 3 + p = 3 \\ 18 - 9 + p = 3 \\ 9 + p = 3 \\ p = 3 - 9 \\ p =  - 6
