Answer : Let √3+√5 is a rational no. be x.
i.e. √3+√5= r
squaring on both side, we get
(√3+√5)^2 = r^2
= 3 + 2√15 + 5 = r^2
= 2√15 = r^2-8
= √15 = (r^2-8)/2
Now (r^2-8)/2 is a rational no. but √15 is an irrational no.
since, a rational no. cannot equal to an irrational no.
therefore, √3+√5 is an irrational no.
