QUESTION : WHAT IS GEOTHERMAL ENERGY? GIVE SOME EXAMPLES.

ANSWER : GEOTHERMAL ENERGY : The word geothermal comes from the Greek words geo (earth) and therme (heat). Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source because heat is continuously produced inside the earth. People use geothermal heat for bathing, to heat buildings, and to generate electricity.

EXAMPLES OF WHERE THEY ARE USED : Geothermal hot water can be used for many applications that require heat. Its current uses include heating buildings (either individually or whole towns), raising plants in greenhouses, drying crops, heating water at fish farms, and several industrial processes, such as pasteurizing milk.

SOURCES : Geothermal Electricity Production. Generating electricity from the earth's heat.

Geothermal Direct Use. Producing heat directly from hot water within the earth.

Geothermal Heat Pumps. Using the shallow ground to heat and cool buildings.

In simple words....

On our Planet, there are certain springs (water outflow from the surface of Earth with high acceleration).

Since these springs comes under the surface of the earth, and due to nearby molten rocks under the crust, this water is at boiling temperature.

This causes the water to evaporate, and produces steam.

We passes this steam through a turbine, and this turbine rotates.

This turbine is connected to a generator, and hence current is produced. So we call this energy as geothermal energy.

Note: I've used simple language and not answered from a question-answer perception. I did it for a better understanding of concept
Pls report my answer if it's not satisfactory
