shadowsabers03: 47 is the answer.
jagrajsingh: I know but how can I solve it
shadowsabers03: Square both sides. We get x^2 + 1/x^2 + 2 = 49.
jagrajsingh: okkh thax
shadowsabers03: Then subtract 2 from both sides. We get x^2 + 1/x^2 = 47. That's all!
shadowsabers03: You're welcome.

(x+1/x) = 7
(x+1/x)^2 = 49
x^2 + 1/x^2 + 2*x*1/x = 49
x^2 + 1/x^2 = 49-2
Therefore,
x^2 + 1/x^2 = 47

Hope this helps you !!

shadowsabers03: strem?
dhruvsh: PCM
dhruvsh: but why are you asking?
dhruvsh: and who are you?
dhruvsh: non medical

x+1/x=7
Now on squaring both sides....
We get,
x+1/x²+ 2(x)(1/x)=49
x²+1/x² = 49-2=47
Hope this helps you....✌
