 \frac{x - 2}{x - 4}  =  \frac{x + 4}{x - 2}

 ➞  {(x - 2)}^{2}  = (x - 4)(x + 4)

 ➞ {x}^{2}  +  {2}^{2}  - 2(x)(2) =  {x}^{2}  -  {4}^{2}

 ➞ {x}^{2}  + 4 - 4x =  {x}^{2}  - 16

 ➞  4 - 4x =  - 16

   ➞  - 4x =  - 12

➞x = 3
