 x^{2} -4x+5 factorise the polynomial plz


TPS: take -5 as the constant term.
TPS: if you take +5, the roots will be complex numbers...

x ² - 4x - 5
⇒ x ² - 5x + x - 5.
⇒ x ( x - 5 ) + 1 ( x - 5 )
⇒  ( x+ 1 ) ( x - 5 ).

Hence, ( x + 1 ) and  ( x - 5 ) are the factors.

PS. Probably your question has some mistakes. The constant should be ( - 5 ).
( + 5 ) will give complex roots.
