Solution:- x = 3 + 2√2 ____1)

1/x = 1/3+2√2

rationalising .

1/3+ 2√2 × 3-2√2/3-2√2

= 3 - 2√2 / (3)² - (2√2)²

1/x= 3-2√2 _______(2)

using (1) and (2) equation

x+ 1/x = 3+ 2√2 + 3- 2√2 = 6

Answer is 6
