✔The big mistake is the assumption made by the Slaters about the grandpa ( Mr. Abel) death . They just concluded that he was dead without calling for a doctor .
The reason stated was that their doctor Mr.Pringle wasn't in town .
✔Mrs. Amelia Slater was a greedy , money minded and selfish lady . She wanted to shift the bureau before the arrival of her sister Elizabeth because she didn't want to share it with her . It shows her lust for material things . Henry initially refuses to assist but is pulled down by his dominant wife and agree to help unwillingly .
✔Mrs. Slater plans to outshine the Jordans as she managed to arrange Half Mourning on account of the death Vermont of his grandpa . and she thought that Elizabeth wouldn't have even thought of morning outfit yet .
