Step-by-step explanation:

Given The 10th term and 4th term of an AP are 125 and 0.find the sum of first 35 terms??

  • Given 10 th term is 125
  • 4 th term is 0
  • So we get the equations as
  • a + 9d = 125 ----------------1
  • a + 3d = 0 -------------------2
  • subtracting the equations we get
  •  6d = 125
  • Or d = 125/6
  • Substituting d in equation 2 we get
  • So a + 3 (125/6) = 0
  • Or a = - 125 / 2
  • Now we know that sum to n terms is given by
  • Sn = n/2 [2a + (n – 1)d]
  •     = 35/2 [2 (-125/2 + (35 – 1) 125/6]
  •    = 35/2 [- 125 + 708.33]
  •  = 35/2 x 583.3
  • = 10,208.33

So S35 = 10,208.33
