$38 = a + 10 d ----eq. 1\\73 = a+15d ----eq. 2$

$38 -73 = a + 10 d - ( a +15d)$

$\implies$ $-35 = a - a + 10d - 15d$

$\implies$ $-35 = -5d$

$\implies$ $d = \dfrac {-35}{-5}$

$\implies$ $d = 7$

hence,common difference will be 7.
