a+d= -4 ---------(1)
and, a+9d = 14 -----------(2)

By equation s (1) and (2)..
Using elimination method,
a+d = -4
a+9d =14
Subtract - - -
-8d=-18
d=18/8
=d = 9/4
Put d value in equation(1)
a + 9/4 =-4
4a +9 = - 16
4a = -22
a= -22/4
a= -11/2


30th term , a+ 29d = -11/2+29×9/4
= -22+261/4
=239/4
