a) The mass of each page = 0.005 kg

b) The mass of each page = 5000 mg

Given :

The 500 pages of a book have a mass of 2.50 kg.

To find :

a) The mass of each page in kg

b) The mass of each page in mg

Solution :

Step 1 of 3 :

Write down mass of all pages in the book

Here it is given that the 500 pages of a book have a mass of 2.50 kg.

Step 2 of 3 :

Calculate mass of each page in kg

Number of pages = 500

Mass of 500 pages = 2.50 kg

∴ The mass of each page

\displaystyle \sf = \frac{2.50}{500} \: \: kg

\displaystyle \sf = 0.005 \: \: kg

Step 3 of 3 :

Calculate mass of each page in mg

Number of pages = 500

Mass of 500 pages = 2.50 kg

Now 1 kg = 1,000,000 mg

∴ Mass of 500 pages

= 2.50 kg

= 2.50 × 1,000,000 mg

= 2,500,000 mg

∴ The mass of each page

\displaystyle \sf = \frac{2,500,000}{500} \: \: mg

\displaystyle \sf = 5000 \: \: mg
