The 5th and 13th terms of an a.p. are 5 and -3 respectively. find the 20th term of the progression.

A5 = 5
a + 4d = 5.......1st
A13 = -3
a + 12d =-3........2nd
By applying elimination method on these eq. we get,
a=9, d = -1
A20= a+19d
=9+19(-1)
=-10
