Given :  6th term of a gp is 32 and its 8th term is 128,

To find : common ratio of the gp

Solution:

Let say GP is

a , ar  , ar² .......

nth term of a gp = arⁿ⁻¹

6th term = ar⁵  = 32

8 th term = ar⁷  = 128

ar⁷ / ar⁵  = 128/32

=> r² = 4

=> r = ± 2

common ratio of the gp is  2  or  - 2

gp can be

1  , 2 , 4 , 8 , 16 , 32 , 64 , 128

or

-1  , 2 , - 4 , 8 , - 16 , 32 , - 64 , 128
