We know,

Acceleration---  It is the rate of change of the velocity with time. 

Velocity ---It is the rate of the change of displacement with the time.

~~~In uniform circular motion, velocity changes due to the change in direction even though magnitude remains constant  (Displacement is the vector quantity).Consecutively, acceleration changes(as it depends upon velocity).

Thus, in uniform circular motion, acceleration varies,i.e. it is an accelerated motion.
