The acceleration is taken ro be positive if it is in direction of velocity and negative when it is opposite to direction of velocity. Explain with an e.g.. wrong ans I will report .....

EXAMPLES:-

Positive acceleration:-

1.When we throw a ball from the balcony the ball falls down here,the ball's initial velocity is 0 but as it falls down it gains velocity and the acceleration will be positive becoz it is in the direction of of velocity and in the direction of gravity.

2.When we throw ball upwards here, the initial velocity will have some value and final will be 0 but here the acceleration will be negative becoz it is going opposite to gravity.
