the adjacent figure consists of four half circles and two quarter circles .If OA=OB=OC=OD=14cm .Find the area of the shaded region.

Given: OA=OB=OC=OD=14CM
            Angles DOB, AOD, COB and AOC are 90 degrees each ( quadrants)
To find the area of the shaded region.
The radius =7cm
Area of a semi circle = 22/7*7*7*1/2 = 77sq. cm

Area of a quadrant = 90/360*22/7*14*14 = 154  sq. cm

Therefore, area of shaded region=
=2(ar. semicircle) + 2( ar. quadrant- ar. semicircle)
=2 * 77 + 2 * (154 - 77)   sq. cm
= 154 + 154 
= 308 sq. cm
