The area of parallelogram of one side 12cm12cm & length of altitude on it is 6cm6cm is

=2(12×12×6)=2(12×12×6)

=72=72

Similarly, if xx is length of altitude drawn on to the side 8cm8cm then area of parallelogram

=2(12×8×x)=2(12×8×x)

=8x=8x

Now, equating both the values of area of parallelogram we get

8x=728x=72

x=9x=9

Hence, the length of altitude to the side 8 cm cm is 9 cm
