The area of the parallelogram
= (36 x 12) sq cm
= 432sq cm
Now
distance between longer sides
= 432/27

=16 cm

Area of parallelogram = bh = 36 × 12 = 432 cm²
Again Area of parallelogram = bh = 27 × h = 432 cm²
                                             ⇒      432 / 27 =h
                                             ⇒        h = 16 cm

∴ The distance between the longer sides = 16 cm
