base=12 and h=6 area =b×h= 12 ×6= 72cm2.
then taking base as 8 cm and height as x cm and area =72 cm2 by putting it on equation
8× X = 72
X=72÷8 = 9cm (ans). hope this helps u

Let height of base 8 cm be z

Since, Area= base×height

Area= 12× 6

Area = 72cm

Then,

With base as 8 cm

Area= Base × height

72 cm= 8 × z

72÷8 cm = z

9 cm= z

Hence, length of altitude corresponding to side 8 cm is 9 cm
