Given:

The measure of the adjacent sides of a rhombus:

  • 3x cm
  • 2(x + 3) cm

To find:

The length of each side

Solution:

In a rhombus, the measure of each of the sides is equal. So, we can say that 3x = 2(x + 3). To find the actual length, we must solve this equation:

⇒ 3x = 2(x + 3)

⇒ 3x = 2x + 6

⇒ 3x - 2x = 6

⇒ x = 6

Now, putting x as 6:

  • 3x cm = 3 × 6 cm = 18 cm
  • 2(x + 3) cm = 2(6 + 3) = 2 × 9 = 18 cm

Therefore, the length of each side of the rhombus is 18 cm.
