a/q,

A/B=5/3

∴3A=5B

again a/q,

A+6/B+6=7/5

⇒5A+30=7B+42

⇒5A-7B=12

⇒5A-21A/5=12                          (∵3A=5B)

⇒25A-21A=60

⇒4A=60

∴A=15 ANS

Answer:

24 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sum of the ages of A = 5 x and B = 3 x

Then after 6 years, their ages are in ratio 7 : 5

∴ 5 x + 6 / 3 x + 6 = 7/5

∴ 25 x + 30 = 21 x + 42 = 4 x = 12 = x = 3

Present age of A = 5 x = 15

Present age of B = 3 x = 9

Sum of present ages = 15 + 9 = 24 years
