5

Explanation:

let current age of B be x

then current age of A according to question will be y= 2x/3

5year before

age of B must have been x-5

n age of A was y-5= 3(x-5)/5

solving both the equations we get

y-(y-5)= 2x/3- 3x/5+ 3

current ages

therefore age of B= 30 yrs

and age of A=20 yrs

Answer:

Present age of A = x years = 20years

Present age of B = y years= 30years

Explanation:

Let the present age of A = x years

Let the present age of B = y years

According to given condition,

Age of A is \frac{2}{3} that of age of B .

                     x = \frac{2}{3} y                                             1

  • Five years ago,

Age of B = (x-5) years

Age of A = (y-5)years

According to given condition,

Age of  A was \frac{3}{5} age of B.

y-5= \frac{3(x-5)}{5}                                                           2

Solving equations 1 and 2 , to get value of x and y,

x = 20 \\y= 30

Therefore,

The present age of A = x years = 20years

The present age of B = y years= 30years
