So, the age of A = 6x

And A's father's age be = 6x+ 40 years

So

According to question,

=> X + 6x + 6x +40 = 118

=> 13x = 118-40

=> x = 78 / 13

=> x= 6 years

So the age of son of A => 6 years

And the age of A = 6x = 6 x 6 => 36 years.
