To find:
- Present age of man?
Let present age of his two sons be x and y years.
∴ Present age of man is 3(x + y) years.
Their ages after 5 years,
- Age of sons = (x + 5) and (y + 5) years
- Age of father = 3(x + y) + 5 years
★ Now, According to Question:
After 5 years his age will be double the age of his sons.
➯ 3(x + y) + 5 = 2(x + 5 + y + 5)
➯ 3x + 3y + 5 = 2(x + y + 10)
➯ 3x + 3y + 5 = 2x + 2y + 20
➯ 3x + 3y - 2x - 2y = 20 - 5
➯ x + y = 15
Therefore, Present age of man is,
- Age of man, 3(x + y) = 3 × 15 = 45 years
