the age of a man is 4 times the age of his son 5 years hence ,the age of the man will be 3 times the age of his son. find their present age​

Let present age of son=x

then man's age =4x

After five years :

4x+5=3(x+5)

4x+5=3x+15

4x-3x=15-5

x=10

Hence present age of son=x=10 years

and present age of man=4x=40 years
