Let the present age of son be a
Present age of father = a+40

After 5 years,

Son's age = a+5
Father's age = a+45

According to question
3(a+5) = a+45
=> 3a +15 = a+45
=> 2a = 30
=> a= 15

Present age of son = 15 years
Present age of father = 55 years

Answer : son age = 15 years

father's age=55years

Step-by-step explanations : let's the present age of son be x

Present age of her father =X+40+45

After 5 years

Son's age = X+5

Father's age =X+40+5

According to the questions

=3(X+5)=X+40+5

3x+15=X+45

3x-x =45-15

2x=30

X=30/2

X=15

Present age of son = 15 years

Present age of father = 15+40+5=55 years
