Let x = the age of the father today.
Let w = the sum of the ages of the children today.

 As the age of the father today is 2 times the sum of the age of the children today, the formula for that will be:

x = 2w ...1

In 20 years, the age of the father will be x + 20.

=> In 20 years, the sum of the age of the children will be w + 40.

Now, x + 20 = w + 40..........2

Solving 1 and 2,we get:-

w = 20

Since x = 2w
=> x = 40

The age of the father today is 40.

The sum of the age of the children today is 20.

The age of the father today is 2 times the sum of the age of the children today.

The age of the father 20 years from now is 60.
The sum of the age of the children 20 years from now is 20 + 40 = 60.

The age of the father 20 years from now will be equal to the sum of the age of the children 20 years from now.
