after seven years the present age of karim=9x+7
after seven years the present age of rahim=4x+7
according to question

3(9x+7)=5(4x+7)
27x+21=20x+35
27x_20x=35_21
7x=14
x=14÷7=2

hence the present age of karim =9x,9(2)= 18 years
hence the present age of rahim=4x,4(2)=8years
