the age ratio of a and b is 4:5. 18 years ago the ratio of their age was 11:16. then finds the sum of their present age?

Let the age of A and B are 4x and 5x

According to question,

ten years ago ,

4x−10 =3

5x−10= 4

(4x−10)4=(5x−10)3

16x−40=15x−30

x=10

So their present ages 4 (10)=40, 5 (10)=50.
