It may be true, though not always, that ill treatment at the hands of people and law and order authorities turn a man a man of revenge going anti-social.
The play "The Bishop's Candlesticks" is a wonder depiction of good and evil, vice and virtue, upholding the values as man over the beastliness.
The perilous conditions made the convict steal. For such a non-grave offence he was punished hard. Moreover, the jail authorities meted out inhuman treatment with filth, vermin and filled him with hatred for anything good in the world. He became a beast in human body. But ultimately he was brought to senses by Bishop to make him believe that this human body is a "Temple of God" and forgiveness is always heavier than revenge.

We are witness to such happenings around us and sometimes we ourselves, though unintentionally, are the cause behind these.
We should acquire the role of the Bishop and be forgiving in such cases.
