Let age of A be A and that of B be B

At present
A / B = 4 / 3
A = 4B / 3

8 years ago
(A - 8) / (B - 8) = 10 / 7
7A - 56 = 10B - 80
7A - 10B = -24
(7 × 4B/3) - 10B = -24
28B - 30B = -72
-2B = -72
B = 36

If B = 36 then from equation (1) A = 4 × 36/3 = 48

∴ Present ages of A and B are 48 and 36 respectively
