let coefficient be X,
A=8X
B=3X
six years,
A=8x+6
B=3x+6
as per question,
(8x+6)/(3x+6)=9/4
32x+24=27x+54
32x-27x=54-24
5x=30
X=6
present ages of A and B is 8x=48 and 3x=18

The present age of "A is 18 years".

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of A = 3x  and

The present age of A = 8x

To find, the present age of A = ?

six years hence,

The age of A = (3x + 6 ) and

The age of A = (8x + 6 )

According to question,

\dfrac{3x+6}{8x+6} =\dfrac{4}{9}

4(8x+6)=9(3x+6

32x+24=27x+54

32x-27x=54-24

5x=30

x=\dfrac{30}{5} =6

The present age of A = 3 × 6 = 18 years

Hence, the present age of "A is 18 years".
