Let the present age of A be 8x (from the given ratio)
                         age of B be 3x (----------"---------------)

After six years, ratio of their ages = 8x+6/3x+6
Also, 8x+6/3x+6 = 9/4 (from given ratio)
By cross multiplication,
=> 27x+54 = 32x+24
=> 32x-27x= 54-24
=>         5x = 30
=>           x = 6

Hence present age of A = 8x = 48
           present age of B = 3x = 18
