Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The ages of Arun and Barun are in the ratio of 5:9, five years later the sum of their ages will be 94.

To find :-

Find their present ages ?

Solution:-

Given that

The ratio of the ages of Arun and Barun = 5:9

Let they be 5X years and 9X years

Let the present age of Arun = 5X years

Let the present age of Barun = 9X years

After 5 years ,

Age of Arun = (5X+5) years

Age of Barun = (9X+5) years

The sum of their ages after 5 years

= 5X+5+9X+5

= (14X+10) years

According to the given problem

Five years later the sum of their ages will be 94 years

=> 14X+10 = 94

=> 14X = 94-10

=> 14X = 84

=> X = 84/14

=> X = 6 years

So,

If X = 6 then 5X = 5×6 = 30 years

If X = 6 then 9X = 9×6 = 54 years

Answer:-

The present age of Arun = 30 years

The present age of Barun = 54 years

Check:-

The present age of Arun = 30 years

The present age of Barun = 54 years

Ratio of their ages = 30:54

=> 30/54

=> (5×6)/(9×6)

=>5/9

=> 5:9

and After 5 years their ages will be 30+5 = 35 years and 54+5 = 59 years

Sum of their ages = 35+59 = 94 years

Verified the given relations in the given problem.
