let Asha's present age=x
let Nirmal's present age = y
therefore, x:y = 5:6
let common multiple be k
then, x=5k and y=6k

and, asha's age 5 years from now = x+5
Nirmal's age 5 years from now= y+5
therefore, (x+5):(y+5)= 6:7
5k+5 / 6k+5 = 6/7
or, 35k+35= 36k+30
or, k=5

therefore, present age of Asha=25
and Nirmal= 30

Answer :

let Asha's present age=x

let Nirmal's present age = y

therefore, x:y = 5:6

let common multiple be k

then, x=5k and y=6k

and,

Asha's age 5 years from now = x+5

Nirmal's age 5 years from now= y+5

therefore,

 \frac{x + 5}{ y + 5}  =  \frac{6}{7}

 \frac{5k+5}{ 6k+5} = \frac{6}{7}

5k+35= 36k+30

or, k=5

therefore,

Present age of Asha=25 and Nirmal= 30
