The ages of Jadhav and jainam are in the ratio of 7:9. Four years from now the ratio of their ages will be 4:5. Find their present ages.

let the ages be 7x and 9x
then
after 4 years as per condition given
$\frac{7x + 4}{9x + 4} = \frac{4}{5} \\ 35x + 20 = 36x + 16 \\ x = 4$
hence present ages
=7x=7×4=28
and 9x=9×4=36

(7x + 4)/(9x + 4) = 4/5.

35x + 20 = 36x + 16.

36x - 35x = 20 - 16.

x = 4.
