Given,

The ages of manvi and Sai are in the ratio 3 : 5 so,

• Let the age of manvi be 3x
• Let the age of Sai be 5x

And also Given that,

Five years ago the difference of their age was 4 years so,

• Manvi age be 3x + 5
• Sai age be 5x + 5

• (3x + 5) - (5x + 5) = 4

Substituting the value :

↝ (3x + 5) - (5x + 5) = 4

↝ 3x + 5 - 5x + 5 = 4

↝ 2x = 4

↝ x = 4/2

↝ x = 2.

Finding the present ages :

↝ Manvi age = 3x = 3(2) = 6 years

↝ Sai age = 5x = 5(2) = 10 Years

Hence,

• Present age of manvi = 6 years
• Present age of Sai = 10 years.

Verification :

↝ (3x + 5) - (5x + 5) = 4

↝ (3(2) + 5) - (5(2) + 5) = 4
