Answer:

A's present age is  35 years

B's present age is 25 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Let the age of A be 7x

Let the age of B be 5x

=> (7x + 10) : (5x + 10) = 9 : 7

=> (7x + 10) / (5x + 10) = 9 / 7

=> 7 (7x + 10) = 9 (5x + 10) [Cross multiplication)

=> 49x + 70 = 45x + 90

=> 49x - 45x = 90 - 70

=> 4x = 20

=> x = 20 / 4

=> x = 5

• A's present age = 7x = (7×5) years = 35 years

• B's present age = 5x = (5×5) years = 25 years

Given :

  • The ages of mine and Jindal is in the ratio 7:5.
  • After 10 years ,the ratio of their ages is 9:7.

To find :

  • Present age of mine and Jindal.

Solution :

The ages of mine and Jindal is in the ratio 7:5

Let the present age of mine be 7x years and the present age of Jindal be 5x years.

After 10 years,

Age of mine = (7x+10) years

★Age of Jindal = (5x+10) years

After 10 years ,the ratio of their ages is 9:7

According to the question,

(7x + 10) : (5x + 10) =  9: 7 \\  =  >  \frac{7x + 10}{5x + 10}  =  \frac{9}{7}  \\  =  > 49x + 70 = 45x + 90 \\  =  > 49x - 45x = 90 - 70 \\  =  > 4x = 20 \\  =  > x = 5

So,

Present age of mine= 7×5 = 35 years.

Present age of Jindal= 5×5 = 25 years.

Therefore the present age of mine is 35 years and the present age of Jindal is 25 years.
