The ages of Rahul and Hari are in the ratio 3:5. 5 years later sum of their ages will be 66.What are their present ages.​

To Find :

  • The present ages of Rahul and Hari.

Solution :

Let the present ages of Rahul and Hari be 3x and 5x.

  • Also, given that 5 years later the sum of their ages is 66. So,

⇒ Rahul's present age = 3x + 5

⇒ Hari's present age = 5x + 5

A.T.Q :

➜ (3x + 5) (5x + 5) = 66

➜ 3x + 5x + 5 + 5 = 66

➜ 8x + 10 = 66

➜ 8x = 66 - 10

➜ 8x = 56

➜ x = 56/8

x = 7

  • So, we got the value of x as 7.

Present ages :

⇒ Rahul's present age = 3x = 3 × 7 = 21 years.

⇒ Hari's present age = 5x = 5 × 7 = 35 years.

Therefore, the present ages of Rahul and Hari are 21 years & 35 years.

=>RAHUL. =3X

=>. HARI =5X

5 YEAR LATER SUM OF AGE IS 66.

3X+5+5X+5=66

8X+10=66

8X=66-10

X=56/8

X=7

PRESENT AGE OF

rahul = 3X-5

=3×7-5

=21-5

=16 Year

Hari=5x-5

=5*7-5
