The ages of Rahul and harron are in the ratio of 5:7.four years later the sum of their ages will be 56 years. What are their present age?

Lets take Rahul's age = 5x

Haroon's age = 7x

Four years later their age will be

Rahul = 5x + 4

Haroon = 7x + 4

The sum of their ages fours years later = 5x + 4 + 7x + 4 = 56

                                                                   = 12x + 8 = 56

                                                                   = 12x = 56 - 8

                                                                              = 48

                                                                   So , x = 48 / 12

                                                                              = 4

Therefore ,

Rahul's age = 20 years

Haroon's age = 28 years
