Ratio of ages= 3:4

Let Ram's age = 3x ….Shyam's age = 4x

A.T.Q

After 5 yr

Age of Ram = 3x + 5

Age of Shyam = 4x + 5

So,3x +5 + 4x + 5 = 45

7x + 10 = 45

7x = 35

x = 5

So, Ram's age = 5× 3 = 15 yrs

Shyam's age = 4× 5 = 20 yr

Answer:

answer :

Given :

  • Present Ages of Simmy and Jimmy are in the ratio 6:8.

  • Five years from now the ratio of their ages will be 4:5.

To Find :

  • Present Ages.

Solution :

  • Let Present Age of Simmy be = 6x

  • Let Present Age of Jimmy be = 8x

After 5 years:

  • Age of Simmy = 6x + 5

  • Age of Jimmy = 8x + 5

according to the question :

 \frac{6x + 5}{8x  + 5}  =  \frac{4}{5}

➜ 5(6x + 5) = 4(8x + 5)

➜ 30x + 25 = 32x + 20

➜ 30x - 32x = 20 - 25

➜ -2x = -5

➜ x = 5/2

Value of x is 5/2.

Therefore :

  • Present Age of Simmy = 15 years

  • Present Age of Jimmy = 20 years
