Answer:

Let the ages be x, x + 1, x + 2.

According to statement

 {x}^{2} = 8(x + 2) + 4 \\ {x}^{2} = 8x + 16 + 4 \\ {x}^{2} - 8x - 20 = 0 \\ {x}^{2} - 10x + 2x - 20 = 0 \\ x(x - 10) + 2(x - 10) = 0 \\ (x - 10)(x + 2) = 0 \\ so \: x \: = 10

so ages are 10, 11, 12 years
