The agriculture flourishes more in the plain regions than in plateau regions .why ?

1. the indian is known as peninsular plateau as  it is surrounded by the water on 3 sides
2. it is mainly composed of the old crystalline, hard igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks
3. large amounts of metallic and non metallic mineral resources are found in this plateau
4. it has broad and shallow valleys with rounded hills
5. prominent plateaus here are malwa plateau on western side and chottanagpur plateau on eastern side
6. in comparision to the plain areas, the plateau regions are dry. the rivers are not perennial. so the plateau regions in india do not support agriculture

the plain regions consists of more minerals than in plateaus that is the main cause the agriculture flourishes in plain regions than in the plateaus.
