1. the indian is known as peninsular plateau as it is surrounded by the water on 3 sides
2. it is mainly composed of the old crystalline, hard igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks

the plain regions consists of more minerals than in plateaus that is the main cause the agriculture flourishes in plain regions than in the plateaus.
