The air we breathe out is called exhale air.

What is breathing?

  • The process by which air is inhaled and exhaled is termed as breathing.
  • When we breathe in (inhale), air which is rich on oxygen passes from the environment to the lungs. From the lungs, it enters the blood.
  • On the other hand, when we exhale, carbon dioxide in the blood reaches the lungs and is exhaled to the outer environment.
  • Hence, oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide is released out as a result of breathing.
